![]() Sadly, very often they would switch to "ear-splitting" so I turned them off in the app. I turned off the sounds eventually in the app settings, but I did like them to be on at a minimal volume. This also affects any app that uses sound effects such as Calcbot. Alert volume is at minimum, there was nothing special about the notification, etc. Just now I had an ear-splitting alert from the Ring app notifications and I double-checked all the settings. More than half the time the alerts seem to abide by my chosen setting, but they go absolutely rogue at least a couple times a day and for different apps. So regardless of whether the alert volume is tied to the volume button, some sounds and alerts are randomly crazy loud. I dragged the Ringer and Alerts slider to the lowest setting with just the tiniest bit of volume. It happens to me all the time so I went into settings and turned OFF the option to "Change with Buttons". It's a bug or something NOT functioning correctly. Good luck.I have the same issue and it's not a question of settings or the phone working the way it's intended. Choose Notification sound and select default - I found my sounds didn't work if any of classic/soft/loud were selected - but my customised sounds on each phone are now active for sound alerts. Now go back into the actual Reolink app - settings - maybe notifications will be an option (on one or two of mine this option was no longer available after update but the custom sound via earlier described process worked for them). With the sound file you want to be your custom notification sound saved in files on your phone settings, go into settings - notifications - apps - select reolink - ensure that "show notifications" is on - notification categories - into each option in turn and ensure "alert" is active - sound - select your prefered sound file - repeat for each notification category. Hi there, maybe you've found a solution to this, but just in case - I have in the past week (Mar 2022) created custom notifications on multiple phone devices for similar purposes as you outline, which had stopped working since I updated app version.Īll are android phones running different versions, samsung, moto, optus spirit, zte, aspera. ![]()
